Wounded Healers Conference 2018 Participants & Bio's
Elder Nakia M. Smith is the Sr. Pastor and Founder of Restoration Outreach Ministries of Longview, TX. He previously served as an itinerant preacher for the last 16 years in the East Texas Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church before launching out and establishing R.O.M. He has worn many hats throughout the life of his ministry, most notably serving as the East Texas Region Director of the Board of Evangelism for 10 years, which exemplifies his passion for outreach…which can be seen in the naming of the now present ministry. Other than the on the job training he received in his years of pastoralship, Elder Smith also has his Associate Degree in Business from Ashford University of Clinton, Iowa with aspirations of obtaining his Bachelors in the same within the near future and is a co-founder of Hedge Financial Group located in Tyler, TX.
Elder Smith has been married to his lovely wife Regina Smith for 18 years and their lives are founded on two things, which are faith and family. Their faith of course lies with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has brought them through many adverse situations and circumstances. Excluding Jesus, their joy is found within their children, Deyanta (21), Jordan (19), and Caleb (13). Not to be overlooked, in June of 2013, that joy expanded even the more when they took on the responsibility of raising three of their nephews, due to extenuating circumstances in their family; Trevor (20), Jasyiah (18), and Drake (17). It goes without saying; this dynamic duo has not missed a beat and continuously exemplifies what family is and ought to be.
In the words of Elder Smith, if he had to summarize what ministry means to him…he could be quoted using these words: “Ministry is a gift from God that I value to the utmost. It is nothing that can be obtained by reading a book, but it is something that must be experienced. The pure fact of the matter is ministry is my life and my life belongs to God, so therefore, so does my ministry.”
Elder Antwain Braggs is a dynamic preacher who operates powerfully and effectively as a teacher and an evangelist. He has a love and passion for the Word of God and God’s people. Elder Braggs is an ordained Elder. He served at The Potter’s House Churches in Dallas, North Dallas, and Fort Worth under the leadership of Bishop T. D. Jakes for over 10 years. Having matriculated through The Potter’s Institute, Elder Braggs also received a Leadership certification after completing coursework.
Elder Braggs is the Founder and Visionary behind Crossover International Ministries Incorporated (CIMI). Using CIMI as a vehicle for evangelism, Elder Braggs revitalizes and empowers communities by training young people to walk in their God-given purpose. Further, he equips adults to engage wholeheartedly in the process of developing and making disciples of the next generation of leaders.
Elder Braggs attributes his effectiveness in ministry to his commitment to prayer and fasting. Through this ministry of reconciliation, he has established the Prayer Warriors Revival (PWR), a revival experience that endeavors to shock the nation and provoke this generation to an intimate place of prayer.
While ministry is his life’s work, Elder Braggs is also a dedicated husband and father. He and his lovely wife, Sherrie, live in the Dallas (Texas) Metropolitan area with their six children: Antandra, Myha, Amari, Aliana Nehemiah and Abigail.
